Polygon faced a temporary consensus finality delay due to a bug affecting its Bor and Erigon nodes, which began on Wednesday. This issue impacted several Remote Procedure Call (RPC) services and caused access problems for applications built on the network. Although the blockchain continued to produce blocks, multiple RPC providers and validators had to revert to the last finalized block and resynchronize. The Polygon team confirmed that certain node configurations were affected by the bug, but restarting the nodes alleviated issues for many validators and RPC providers. Engineers are working alongside infrastructure providers to expedite debugging and restore full functionality. The incident does not disrupt core chain operations, and the team reassured users that a swift recovery is underway. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
