On Oct. 6, Play Solana will ship its first handheld gaming console called the PSG1, creatively integrating gaming and crypto features. The PSG1 is equipped with an octa-core ARM processor, 8 GB of RAM, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a touch LCD display. Additionally, it incorporates a built-in hardware wallet and fingerprint authentication, allowing users to securely store their crypto assets while gaming. The company has also launched a limited NFT collection that provides 2,000 holders with early access and other perks. This launch signifies the Solana ecosystem's expansion into consumer electronics, following its previous venture, the Saga smartphone, which was also aimed at the Web3 market. Solana Mobile had positive experiences with its products, leading to a strong demand for devices like the PSG1, which reflects community interest in bridging gaming and blockchain technology. This initiative comes alongside another announcement from the Sui blockchain, which has plans for its own gaming device, SuiPlay0X1, scheduled for 2025.
