Planck launches layer-0 blockchain for artificial intelligence
Planck has introduced a layer-0 blockchain designed to enhance decentralized networks for artificial intelligence (AI). This infrastructure targets the growing demand for decentralized AI, which has predominantly been controlled by major tech companies like OpenAI and Google. The blockchain will support decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs), which integrate hardware, incentives, and distributed processing to offer alternatives to centralized cloud services. Planck operates with a network of global processing units valued at $230 million, aiming to reduce AI compute costs by up to 90% compared to traditional services. Its revenue model includes transaction fees, SDK usage, and rewards for GPU operators based on their resource availability and usage. With $1.5 million in revenue generated since February, Planck aims to compete with other infrastructure providers in the rapidly growing GPU-as-a-service market, expected to expand significantly in the coming years.
