Pipe Network debuts Firestarter Storage for Solana developers
Pipe Network has launched Firestarter Storage, a decentralized storage solution aimed at Solana developers. This new infrastructure intends to offer an alternative to centralized giants like AWS and Cloudflare, which have been the only options for data storage and delivery on Solana until now. Firestarter Storage enables Pipe to function as a full-stack competitor to traditional CDNs, incorporating origin storage, CDN delivery, and edge compute capabilities while maintaining a decentralized framework. The new service allows developers access to a global network of over 280,000 points-of-presence, efficiently serving content directly from Pipe's storage layer. Developers can utilize Firestarter Storage for applications like pay-as-you-scroll video and low-latency gaming, with the pricing model set at 1 $PIPE token per gigabyte. Furthermore, Firestarter meets jurisdictional and security requirements, allowing nodes to operate within specific legal boundaries. Essentially, this positions Pipe Network as a foundational layer for decentralized content distribution, emphasizing speed, cost-efficiency, and data sovereignty.
