Not every firm has the brand power to launch a stablecoin: Core VC
Core VC’s David Roos has highlighted the growing attention towards stablecoins, suggesting that while there won't be a massive influx of thousands of them, a select few—approximately a dozen—will emerge from significant organizations with substantial brand power. Roos mentioned notable companies, such as Walmart and Amazon, exploring the concept of creating their own stablecoins to facilitate closed-loop financial systems, offering them the advantage of bypassing traditional financial systems and saving costs. He emphasized the current gaps in user-friendly digital wallets, noting the necessity for better interfaces to accommodate non-crypto-native users. Furthermore, Roos expressed interest in the potential advancements in digital identity within the financial technology space, as businesses continue to evolve.
