By operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AIP hopes to facilitate greater cooperation with lawmakers while also offering potential tax benefits to donors, including those contributing in cryptocurrency. The organization has garnered support from various stakeholders in the crypto industry, including the Digital Currency Group and Coinbase. AIP's board includes figures from established crypto organizations, led by Kristin Smith of the Solana Policy Institute. The initiative aims to equip American leaders with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of digital assets and regulations.
