New crypto advocacy group debuts at Wyoming summit
A new nonprofit lobbying organization, the American Innovation Project (AIP), has been launched by prominent figures in the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector. AIP aims to educate US policymakers and encourage public advocacy on digital asset issues. Led by Kristin Smith, president of the Solana Policy Institute, the board includes executives from the Blockchain Association, Paradigm, Digital Currency Group, and Coinbase. The group was formed to facilitate bipartisan dialogues and address regulatory needs amid a rapidly evolving tech landscape. AIP emerges in a climate where pro-crypto lawmakers are gaining influence following recent elections. Initial funding comes from various prominent contributors including Digital Currency Group and Andreessen Horowitz. At the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, which coincides with the AIP’s launch, industry leaders, lawmakers, and SEC Chair Paul Atkins are expected to discuss crucial legislation including a market structure bill for cryptocurrencies. The organization aims to inform American leaders about the necessary context and tools to navigate upcoming regulations regarding digital assets.
