A nonprofit lobbying organization, the American Innovation Project (AIP), has launched to advocate for the cryptocurrency industry. Headed by Kristin Smith, president of the Solana Policy Institute, AIP aims to educate US policymakers and the public on digital asset issues. Its board comprises executives from various organizations including the Blockchain Association and Coinbase. The group’s formation comes amidst a favorable political landscape for pro-crypto lawmakers following the 2024 elections. AIP has secured funding, including contributions from the Digital Currency Group and others, to support its mission of providing critical knowledge and resources regarding emerging technologies. This week, members are attending the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, where discussions on collaborative efforts between the crypto sector and government will take place alongside the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium.
