The LayerZero Foundation has proposed acquiring the crypto protocol Stargate for $110 million, which has positively impacted the tokens associated with both projects. The proposal, shared in Stargate’s forum, aims to enhance both platforms by providing Stargate with resources for an ambitious roadmap. LayerZero plans to exchange Stargate's token, STG, for its token, ZRO, at a conversion rate of 1 STG to 0.08634 ZRO. As a result of the proposal, LayerZero's token surged by over 23% in the past day, trading at $2.44, while Stargate's token saw gains of around 16.5% to just over 19 cents. Despite this growth, both tokens remain significantly down from their all-time highs. LayerZero's CEO expressed a desire for quicker development, but some Stargate community members voiced concerns about the proposal, questioning the offered token swap's fairness and the potential loss of revenue-sharing opportunities for STG holders. The proposal will be open for comments for seven days before the community votes.
