MapleStory N, developed by Nexpace, is actively banning thousands of accounts daily to combat hacking, cheating, and exploitation that have surged since its launch in May 2025. Players have reported bots auto-farming and individuals defeating endgame bosses through exploits, leading to significant integrity concerns within the game. Keith Kim, Nexpace’s head of strategy, emphasized the unprecedented volume of attacks, significantly outpacing issues in other Nexon games. In response, the game has introduced a 30-hour cash-out delay to hinder hackers, alongside enhanced cheat detection systems. This strategy aims to create a deterrent for would-be exploiters while maintaining accessibility for regular players. The value of assets gained illicitly is substantial, as players earn real cryptocurrencies through various in-game activities. Nexpace has also isolated malicious activity by restricting off-ramps in its gaming network, Henesys, to prevent cashing out stolen assets completely. Additionally, a clawback feature has been implemented, allowing developers to reclaim assets tied to banned accounts. These measures aim to ensure fairness and protect the overall gaming ecosystem for legitimate users.
