A recent experiment tested 17 AI models using the Harry Potter Sorting Hat quiz, revealing a strong bias toward the Ravenclaw house, which values intelligence and wit. Eleven models achieved a perfect 100% probability for Ravenclaw, with no models landing in Gryffindor, despite Gryffindor's association with bravery. The only model with significant brave tendencies was Claude Opus 3, scoring 48.7% for Gryffindor. Slytherin and Hufflepuff received minimal recognition, with three models showing any traits aligned with Slytherin, indicating a lack of ambition in the group of tested AIs. The experiment highlighted that AI systems overwhelmingly prefer traits associated with intellectual strengths over courage or cunning, suggesting a collective identity aligned with knowledge and learning.
