The Hashgraph Group (THG) has announced the launch of IDTrust, a self-sovereign identity (SSI) platform designed to leverage blockchain technology for secure digital identity management. Built on the Hedera network, IDTrust aims to give users full control over their personal data, setting it apart from competitors like Microsoft Entra and Worldcoin. IDTrust utilizes the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) to avoid the burdens of traditional blockchain solutions, ensuring flexibility and efficiency. The platform supports enterprises and governments by providing comprehensive identity management features including both authentication and authorization. Importantly, IDTrust's compatibility with Switzerland's upcoming e-ID initiative positions it well for further collaboration with governmental authorities. THG co-founder Stefan Deiss emphasized that IDTrust is designed not only for individual identity verification but also for integrating relevant credentials, making it a versatile tool in the expanding field of digital identity solutions.
