GOAT Network has launched a public beta for its Bitcoin Layer 2 testnet, claiming to be the first zero-knowledge rollup on Bitcoin capable of generating cryptographic proofs in under three seconds. The new system aims to solve issues of slow transaction finality and limited yield options on Bitcoin. By utilizing decentralized provers and a distributed network of GPU-powered nodes, GOAT Network seeks to provide fast withdrawals and native BTC yield without intermediaries. Users can stake Bitcoin into decentralized sequencer nodes and share in the fees generated from Layer 2 transactions. The architecture settles all transactions directly on the Bitcoin blockchain, ensuring security and trustless operations. GOAT's technology addresses community skepticism around Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions, with CEO Kevin Liu emphasizing the readiness of the technology to meet market demands for yield, without requiring users to sell their Bitcoin. The BitVM2 ZK Rollups are expected to be available to the public by the end of the year.
