Gemini Valuation Could Top $3 Billion as Crypto Exchange Raises IPO Share Price
Gemini, the American crypto exchange, is increasing its initial public offering (IPO) share price range to $24-26, potentially boosting its valuation to over $3 billion. Initially, Gemini planned to offer more than 16 million shares between $17-19. The firm stated in a filing with the SEC that it will offer 16,666,667 common shares under the ticker GEMI. Founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss emphasized in a letter that the financial markets are evolving, and digital assets are fundamentally changing transactions and value storage. The exact IPO date is not confirmed, but it's expected to occur soon after the filing becomes effective. Gemini's IPO is underwritten by several major financial institutions, and they plan to reserve 10% of the shares for a directed share program. Along similar lines, Circle also increased its IPO offering due to demand, which significantly raised the opening trading price of its shares.
