Gemini Exchange Wins Malta MiCA License
Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by the Winklevoss twins, has secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license in Malta. This license, granted by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), enables Gemini to expand its operations across over 30 European countries. The announcement follows Gemini's recent listing on the Nasdaq Global Select Market with the ticker symbol GEMI. In their statement, Gemini emphasized the significance of this regulatory approval in supporting their commitment to high standards of compliance and fostering crypto adoption in Europe. They view clear regulations as essential for the global cryptocurrency landscape. Additionally, Gemini had previously obtained a license to offer derivatives in the European market in May, further enhancing its offerings in the region.
