Galaxy Digital has collaborated with Superstate to tokenize its Class A common stock on the Solana blockchain, marking a historic development as the first issuance of SEC-registered public equity directly on a major public chain. Launched on September 3, 2025, through Superstate’s Opening Bell platform, these tokens are equivalent to traditional stock and preserve full shareholder rights. Only approved and KYC-verified investors can access these shares, which they can hold in self-custodied wallets. As reported in early September, 21 investors held 32,374 shares on Solana, indicating cautious but significant adoption. Galaxy's CEO, Mike Novogratz, emphasized the goal of merging the transparency of crypto markets with the protections afforded by regulated equity. The project also explores the use of automated market makers for trading tokenized equities under the SEC’s Project Crypto. This initiative reflects broader trends of integrating traditional financial systems with blockchain technologies amidst evolving regulatory landscapes.
