Decentralized finance platform Veda has appointed TuongVy Le, a former US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) official, as its general counsel as the company seeks to expand crosschain yield products for institutional investors. Le previously served as chief counsel and senior adviser at the SEC, where she was instrumental in advising Congress on digital asset legislation and was involved in key crypto enforcement actions during her tenure from 2016 to 2021. After her time at the SEC, she was general counsel and corporate secretary at Anchorage Digital. In her statement, Le expressed her enthusiasm for creating a more transparent and accessible financial system through blockchain technology. The appointment comes shortly after Veda secured funding from notable venture capital investors and marked its launch as a protocol for tokenizing various DeFi applications, boasting nearly $4 billion in total value locked. The growing trend of former regulators moving into crypto roles reflects a broader shift, supporting the landscape of upcoming regulatory initiatives.
