Florida Investor Sues Denver Crypto School Over $860K Scam
A Florida man, Brian Firestone, has filed a lawsuit against the Alpha Stock Investment Training Center (ASITC) and a fictitious exchange named CoinBridge Partners, claiming he was scammed out of $860,000 through fraudulent trading activities. Firestone alleges that he was initially approached by a representative who offered him a $500 gift to start trading. He engaged with the ASITC, which promoted a signal trading method, where ‘professors’ provided specific trade instructions. Firestone's initial investment saw a dramatic increase, leading him to invest more, but losses followed when a significant trade failed to execute due to a supposed 'system error.' The lawsuit claims ASITC, CoinBridge, and associated individuals committed fraud and racketeering. Despite his claims, the actual CoinBridge Partners in Wyoming denies any connection to the scam. This incident reflects ongoing concerns regarding crypto-related scams, especially as phishing attacks accounted for over $1 billion in losses in 2024.
