Figma has announced a significant investment in Bitcoin as it prepares for its public debut on the NYSE. The company revealed it holds a $69.5 million investment in a Bitcoin ETF, which constitutes approximately 4.5% of its cash and securities portfolio. This investment was made after regulators approved the fund in early 2024, with Figma initially investing $55 million and seeing fluctuations in its holdings since then. The company is also planning to further invest $30 million in Bitcoin using its existing USDC stablecoin reserves. This unexpected move into cryptocurrency from the design software giant comes after a botched acquisition attempt by Adobe last year. Despite previous risks associated with Bitcoin’s volatility, Figma's intention to increase its Bitcoin investments reflects a broader trend among companies adding the cryptocurrency to their balance sheets. Figma reported $749 million in revenue for 2024, showcasing robust growth as it aims to meet the requirements necessary for its IPO under the ticker 'FIG.'
