Ethereum ETF Flows in August Blow Past Post-Merge Token Issuance
In August 2025, spot Ethereum ETFs attracted $2.3 billion, equivalent to roughly 500,000 ETH, surpassing the 450,000 ETH issued by the Ethereum network since the merge in September 2022. This significant inflow into Ethereum ETFs coincides with a notable increase in Ethereum's price, reaching around $4,740. Standard Chartered analysts noted that while Ethereum treasury firms have also accumulated ETH, the demand from ETFs has been much larger. They anticipate Ethereum treasury companies may increase their holdings to 10% of all circulating ETH by year-end. Currently, Ethereum's supply increases by a capped percentage, with staking rewarding participants, while transaction fees contribute to token burns, removing ETH from circulation. With recent legislative movements regarding stablecoins, projections indicate further growth in dollar-pegged tokens on the Ethereum network, reinforcing its position in the evolving crypto landscape.
