Do Kwon, the founder of Terraform Labs, has been denied the ability to claim back a $15.1 million down payment he made for a luxury apartment in Singapore. The Singapore High Court ruled against Kwon after he failed to complete the purchase due to legal troubles. Kwon and his wife had signed a 16-month lease for a penthouse in the Sculptura Ardmore complex, paying a significant upfront deposit. Kwon's wife continued to occupy the apartment after the option to buy expired, leading to claims of a breach of contract. The court awarded the developer an additional month's rent while rejecting claims for repair costs. Despite Kwon's pleas for the return of his deposit, the court upheld the developer's right to retain it, with the property eventually being resold for $26.87 million.
