Currently, there is no standardized, legally recognized mechanism for inheriting tokenized property, which poses risks such as lost access and ambiguous jurisdictional claims. Potential solutions include automated inheritance through smart contracts and new technologies that incorporate biometric authentication, ensuring heirs can access their inherited assets. A proposed decentralized data survivability protocol could automate transfers of ownership based on set conditions, incorporating sharding and NFTs to facilitate the inheritance process. This system enhances reliability in wealth transfer and tackles the risk of lost keys. The integration of an automatic inheritance layer is crucial for maintaining continuity in real estate ownership, ensuring that the benefits of tokenization are preserved for future generations.
