Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has received a license to operate in Ireland under the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulation, enabling it to provide crypto services across the 30 nations in the European Economic Area (EEA). This development allows Kraken to enhance its business operations significantly within Europe. Arun Sethi, Kraken's co-CEO, stated that the license posits the exchange to expand its product offerings and client base while ensuring regulatory compliance. The acquisition of the MiCA license assures that Kraken meets the EU-wide standards for consumer protection, transparency, and oversight. Kraken is now among several exchanges that have secured MiCA licenses in recent months, which is indicative of the evolving regulatory landscape in the cryptocurrency sector.
