A coalition of major crypto entities, including Coinbase, DCG, and Kraken, has launched the American Innovation Project (AIP), a nonprofit aimed at educating policymakers about decentralized technologies. As a 501(c)(3) organization, AIP is designed to be tax-exempt and shield its participants from personal liability, while strictly adhering to laws prohibiting substantial legislative influence. Julie Stitzel from DCG stated that AIP aims to clarify complex developments in decentralized technologies for policymakers. The organization’s registration under non-profit status acknowledges the importance of non-partisan education. The launch coincides with a private crypto policy summit in Jackson Hole, attended by influential figures, setting the stage for AIP’s inaugural event focused on policy education for legislative staff. This initiative reflects efforts in Washington to shape crypto perceptions amidst ongoing lobbying activities.
