Cboe, a derivatives exchange, plans to launch continuous Bitcoin and Ethereum futures for U.S. customers pending regulatory approval, aiming for a November release. Unlike traditional futures that expire monthly, these new contracts will have a duration of 10 years, providing investors with continuous access to the two leading cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Catherine Clay, Global Head of Derivatives at Cboe, indicated that perpetual-style futures have seen significant adoption in offshore markets and expressed a desire to offer these products in a regulated U.S. environment. Current U.S.-based traders are limited to futures contracts that have expiration dates.
