Canary CEO Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $150K This Year—But Ethereum Surge Won't Last
Steven McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital, predicts Bitcoin could reach $150,000 by the end of the year, partly due to increased investment from exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and institutional buyers. Bitcoin recently achieved a new all-time high of $124,128. Despite this bullish outlook, McClurg expressed skepticism about Ethereum's recent surge, considering it an older technology and less favorable compared to newer blockchains like Solana and Sui. He asserted that Ethereum would likely not see further all-time highs, even though it has experienced a strong performance recently, nearing record levels. Another analyst noted that Ethereum retains significant dominance in the developer ecosystem, likening it to the iPhone platform. Meanwhile, there is concern about sell pressure on Ethereum as holders prepare to unstake a large amount of ETH. Overall, while Bitcoin's price is projected to rise, Ethereum faces a murky future amid emerging competition from newer blockchain technologies.
