Canary CEO Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $150K This Year—But Ethereum Surge Won't Last
Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg forecasts that Bitcoin could reach $150,000 by the end of 2025, driven by significant institutional demand and ETF inflows. He noted that Bitcoin's price recently hit an all-time high of $124,128, suggesting a greater than 50% chance of further gains before a predicted bear market in 2026. Despite Bitcoin's promise, McClurg is skeptical about Ethereum, characterizing it as outdated compared to newer blockchains like Solana and Sui. He anticipates Ethereum's recent surge will not sustain. Conversely, some analysts argue that Ethereum's developer ecosystem remains strong and could continue to grow. Additionally, a notable amount of Ethereum is queued for unstaking, which might increase sell pressure. McClurg also mentioned the potential for a resurgence of Litecoin as it processes transactions faster. He believes the market could experience volatility, especially historically poor performance months like August, followed by stronger results in September and October.
