BlackRock iShares Bitcoin ETF surpasses 700K Bitcoin
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF has surpassed 700,000 BTC, currently holding 700,307 BTC, valued at approximately $75.5 billion. This amount represents over 55% of all Bitcoin held by US spot Bitcoin ETFs. The recent growth includes an inflow of $164.6 million on Monday, with the fund reporting a total return of 82.67% since its launch in January 2024. This rise in holdings comes as combined purchases by US Bitcoin ETFs and major corporate holders outstrip the supply from Bitcoin miners. For 2025, these entities have acquired Bitcoin worth $28.22 billion against a new supply of only $7.85 billion from miners. Regulatory developments are also progressing, as the SEC is reportedly streamlining the approval process for crypto ETFs, possibly enhancing market participation. This comes on the heels of the launch of new crypto ETFs, such as the REX-Osprey Solana and Staking ETF, which introduces staking rewards alongside crypto holdings.
