Bitcoin Surpasses Amazon in Market Cap
On July 14, 2025, Bitcoin's price climbed above $122,600, resulting in a market capitalization of approximately $2.4 trillion, surpassing Amazon's estimated $2.3 trillion. This surge was fueled by record inflows into Spot Bitcoin ETFs, which saw over $1 billion in daily inflows on July 10 and 11. Additionally, legislative support from Washington provided a clearer regulatory framework, boosting institutional participation. As Bitcoin’s correlation with major equities increased, it began to be seen as part of the broader risk asset landscape, much like a technology stock. In just 15 years since 2010, Bitcoin's value has skyrocketed by over 1.2 million percent. As of July 2025, more than 265 companies hold approximately 853,000 BTC, with ETFs becoming major custodians. Predictions indicate Bitcoin could reach $167,000, aligning with major market players like Apple and Microsoft, despite potential risks from regulatory issues or changes in market sentiment.
