Billions in Ethereum Waiting to Be Unstaked Could Add Sell Pressure to ETH: Analyst
Ethereum stakers are increasingly lining up to withdraw their ETH, amounting to a record 855,158 ETH (approximately $3.7 billion) waiting to be unstaked, according to analysts. This growing queue could exert significant sell pressure on the cryptocurrency, especially following its recent price surge. The Ethereum network imposes a limit on the amount of ETH that can be unstaked at once to maintain stability, currently expected to clear in about 15 days. Analysts point out that if unstaked ETH trades at a discount, it could trigger liquidations and sell-offs, further affecting ETH's market price. The recent increase in stakers opting to unlock their tokens is seen as a cautious response to uncertain market conditions, prompting fears that this could impact prices lower, should the additional supply from unstaking overwhelm the demand for ETH.
