Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX and a significant figure in cryptocurrency, has made headlines by repurchasing Ethereum (ETH) at a higher price after recently selling a substantial amount of it. Last week, Hayes sold 2,373 ETH, equivalent to around $8.32 million, when ETH was trading near $3,507, aiming to secure profits ahead of an anticipated price drop. However, just a week later, he reversed this decision by investing $10.5 million in USDC to buy back ETH at prices exceeding $4,150. Hayes humorously noted his regret on social media, swearing to never take profits again. This move comes amid notable fluctuations and rally in the Ethereum market, as recent data shows over 1 million ETH has been accumulated by various whales and institutions, coinciding with a price surge from $2,600 to $4,000 within the month. Hayes has expressed concerns regarding future pricing, predicting potential declines for both Bitcoin and Ethereum due to economic conditions.
