Arbitrum jumps 17% on speculation of partnership with Robinhood
Arbitrum's token experienced a 17% rise within a day, fueled by speculation about a potential partnership with Robinhood Markets. This surge followed a post on X where Robinhood Crypto's Johann Kerbrat and Offchain Labs' A.J. Warner announced a fireside chat during a Robinhood Europe-hosted event in Cannes, France, touted as a platform for major crypto announcements. This speculation links back to earlier discussions in May when reports suggested Robinhood was developing a blockchain platform to enable European investors to trade US stocks, with Arbitrum and Solana as possible candidates. In the wake of Robinhood's X post, Arbitrum's token increased from approximately 31 cents to a high of 38.6 cents, marking the most significant gain in the cryptocurrency market. Conversely, Robinhood's shares also gained approximately 1.65%, closing at $84.26 after speculation about the upcoming announcement.
