Animoca-linked Moca Chain plots Q4 mainnet launch
Moca Foundation, tied to Animoca Brands, is preparing to launch its Moca Chain mainnet in Q4 2025, following a Q3 testnet launch. The blockchain aims to serve as a cross-chain identity layer, allowing users to manage their digital identities securely while avoiding data collection by major tech companies like Google and Meta. The MOCA token will be the native token of the chain. Moca Chain seeks to provide decentralized data storage and plans to incorporate advanced privacy features, including ZK proofs and oracles for user identities. This initiative presents a decentralized alternative to traditional single sign-on options, although privacy regulations may ultimately be required for broader adoption. Siu, a co-founder of Animoca Brands, envisions this platform as a method for individuals to take ownership of their digital data, paving the way for a digital identity ecosystem that prioritizes privacy.
