Animoca Brands has partnered with Antler’s Ibex Japan to launch a dedicated Web3 entertainment investment fund focused on bringing Japan’s anime and manga intellectual property (IP) onchain. This initiative was announced at the WebX conference in Tokyo. The fund aims to license underutilized Japanese IP and support the development of new Web3 products and services across various sectors, including fintech and healthcare. Animoca’s co-founder Yat Siu emphasized the significant dormant value of Japan's IP and its global potential. The fund's co-general partners plan to announce initial projects in the following months, coinciding with a resurgence in the NFT market. Data shows a 40% increase in overall NFT market capitalization since July. Meanwhile, there are discussions in the U.S. regarding tokenization, with Kraken engaging with the SEC to discuss regulatory matters that could shape the future of tokenized trading systems.
