Animoca-Backed Moca Chain Launches for Decentralized Identity Solutions
Moca Chain, a new layer-1 blockchain developed by Moca Foundation, aims to provide decentralized, privacy-preserving identity verification. Scheduled for testnet launch in Q3 2025 and mainnet deployment in Q4 2025, Moca Chain is designed for managing identity and user data without reliance on centralized services. The platform will enable verification of both onchain and offchain user data across different blockchains, utilizing the MOCA token for transaction fees and staking. Yat Siu, a co-founder of Animoca Brands, emphasized that traditional single sign-on methods compromise security by creating a centralized point of failure. Moca Chain’s decentralized approach ensures true ownership of data, enhancing the sovereignty of digital identities. The project has already integrated its identity management software development kit, AIR Kit, into numerous platforms, potentially reaching over 700 million addressable users. This includes collaborations with programs like South Korea's OK Cashbag and Germany's One Football, which utilize identity-verified user data for improved services.
