Andrew Tate Shorts Kanye West's YZY, Nears $700K Loss On Hyperliquid
Andrew Tate, the kickboxing champion and controversial influencer, has recently faced significant losses while trading Kanye West's newly launched YZY token. A wallet associated with Tate opened a position in YZY at $0.85 but is now experiencing a loss of approximately $16,000. According to analytics platform Lookonchain, Tate has completed 80 trades on Hyperliquid, with only 29 of them profitable, resulting in total losses nearing $700,000. The YZY token, launched on the Solana blockchain, initially spiked 1,400% before plummeting over 74%. This instance reflects a broader trend where increased celebrity involvement in cryptocurrencies has led to, in many cases, substantial financial losses, emphasizing that not all investment endorsements should be taken at face value. Previously, Tate faced similar issues with the DADDY memecoin, which suffered a sharp decline in value after his promotion. Other celebrities have also faced scrutiny for promoting tokens that later crashed significantly.
