92 crypto-related ETPs in the works: ‘Floodgates to open soon’
There are currently 92 crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) awaiting approval from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). These ETPs aim to track major cryptocurrencies such as Solana, XRP, and others, reflecting a significant demand within the crypto market. Notably, Solana has eight ETF applications pending while XRP has seven, according to Bloomberg Intelligence's ETF analyst James Seyffart. The total number of crypto ETFs approaching the SEC has risen from 72 to 92 in just four months, highlighting rapid growth. Several pending ETFs offer exposure to Bitcoin and Ethereum, while others target various altcoins, including Litecoin and Dogecoin. Grayscale is also converting five trusts into ETFs that cover diverse cryptocurrencies. Analysts predict an imminent easing of regulatory constraints, suggesting that the approval of these ETFs could unlock substantial investment in the crypto sector, especially as major players like BlackRock steer the market with significant fund inflows.
